During our visit to Asia, Pete and I flew Korean Air from Bangkok to Seoul and back to the United States from Seoul. I have to say, they offer some unexpected luxury in economy class. There is a skin care store on the plane! Below are photos from both of our flights highlighting the amenities, entertainment, food and extras you’ll experience on Korean Air.
Another aspect I really appreciate about Korean Air is that they have direct flights from Atlanta to Seoul. Flying from the US East Coast to Asia usually requires several connecting flights and is usually a 24-hour trip. The Atlanta connection cut our travel time in half, and I can’t even tell you how great it felt to be able to get back home to Florida with only one more transfer (instead of two or three).
Also note that if you're a Delta fan, Korean Air is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, so you can collect SkyMiles through them as well. Plus, it’s great to fly with an official airline because as soon as you step on the plane, you’ll be in the mood for your destination.
Well, without further ado, here’s our Korean Air review and flight photos!
Korean Air flights from Bangkok to Seoul

There's plenty of leg room. I'm about 5'3″ and there's a lot of room between my knees and the seat in front of me.

They have a pretty good entertainment selection and provide USB sockets for your phone.

Food from Bangkok to Seoul includes salmon salad, beef and vegetables, and melon and dragon fruit. I gotta tell you, I love a light dessert on the plane.

The bathroom in economy class is the most immaculate I have ever seen on any airline, and they offer Jurlique products for refreshments. I swear the flight attendants have to watch the bathroom like a hawk because it's always clean and there's always fresh dental kits available.

Landed in Seoul at sunset. Isn’t it beautiful! If you fly this route, be sure to request a seat on the left side of the plane to enjoy this view.

Korean Air flights from Seoul to Atlanta

Likewise, on our flight from Seoul to Atlanta, there was plenty of legroom. The plane itself seemed a little older than the last one we flew, but still clean. Because it was a long-haul flight, they placed bottled water on our seats when we boarded, and they also provided bottled water throughout the flight to stay hydrated. Nice touch, but not available on all international flights.

This is an amenity package for flights from Seoul to Atlanta. These include a pair of slippers and a dental kit. The bag is a bit flimsy and cheaply made. I wish this bag was better as it would be a great souvenir. I travel a lot, so I tend to keep these bags for storing electronics. This one is broken so not worth saving.

Impressive food from Seoul to Atlanta! I just spent a week in Seoul exploring Korean food and I loved that they had bibimbap on the menu. Includes seaweed rice, kimchi, soup, bean paste and sauce, and dessert is pineapple (again, love the healthy fruit options!). My only complaint is that the ingredients don't have a food allergy list in English. Pete is allergic to shellfish, and since some Asian sauces contain shrimp, he ordered something else off the menu so he wouldn't risk an allergic reaction in the air. Although, he loves bibimbap!
Also, although he ordered a beef dish, his salad included shrimp. With shellfish allergies, they need to be extra careful.

Another fun surprise on Korean Air flights is the duty-free shop. Have you ever seen a physical store opened on an airplane? Normally it's just duty-free magazines and a shopping cart, but this is a whole different level of shopping. I loved being able to test out some skin creams and ended up buying some SK-II products that were duty free and cheaper than in the US. Fraction!

This was our second meal on our long flight from Seoul to Atlanta. Chicken rice, caesar salad and lychees. I love lychees, but I think most Americans would wrinkle their noses at this fruit unless they've tried it before. It's nice and sweet, just seems a little meaty when pre-peeled in a dish like this.

That's it! We eat, watch movies, and sleep. When we woke up we were in Atlanta with only one other short flight back to Orlando. Have you ever flown Korean Air? What do you think? Please comment below and let us know.
