Disney World's Swan and Dolphinarium to undergo $275 million renovation and expansion
Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is getting a major makeover! The $275 million project will add 120,000 square feet of event space and modernize the resort's meeting facilities. In addition, The Swan Hotel will undergo a complete refurbishment of all guest rooms to enhance the overall guest experience.

The expansion will significantly increase Swan and Dolphin's meeting space, bringing its total across three buildings to 469,000 square feet. This will make it one of the largest conference hotels on the East Coast. The largest continuous event space now spans 175,000 square feet, providing ample space for large events and meetings.

Meeting space expansion
In the first major expansion of Walt Disney World's Dolphin convention space since 2003, a new two-story annex will be constructed. Connected to the hotel's existing meeting space, it will provide 41,000 square feet of function space on the first floor and 24,000 square feet of additional pre-function space. The second floor will feature an elegant ballroom offering 41,000 square feet of divisible event space, as well as 14,000 square feet of pre-function foyer space.
Upon entering the new building, guests will encounter an airy, open atrium with natural light streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows, a winding staircase, and two-story chandeliers. The hotel's original Michael Graves design inspiration will be carried through in a contemporary style throughout the new space, featuring a water theme and warm wood accents.
Additional modern space allows groups to increase attendance or host multiple events on each floor. The expanded foyer will enhance flow between new and existing areas and provide ample space for interaction and networking opportunities along the way. State-of-the-art event technology will be installed throughout the new building. For groups requiring more space, outdoor power and infrastructure will be added alongside the annex to allow for easy addition of temporary structures in an environmentally friendly manner.
The project will break ground in November and is expected to be completed by late summer 2026.
Activity space refresh
The hotel's existing 333,000 square feet of meeting space at Swan and Dolphin has also been enhanced, with a new modern look and new features in event technology. The ballroom, carpeting, air walls, hallways and lounge spaces at Walt Disney World's Dolphin Hotel were recently upgraded with a mix of whites, blues, grays and natural woods to create a fresh, bright atmosphere that matches the hotel's water theme. consistent. Similar improvements are underway at Walt Disney Swan World and will be completed in phases, with final work scheduled for summer 2025.
Room decoration
To further enhance the guest experience, the hotel is renovating all guest rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. Prior to this, the Walt Disney World Swan Sanctuary Hotel will open in late 2021, introducing 349 new luxury guest rooms. The Swan and Dolphin Hotel's new contemporary design rooms feature luxury tiled floors and new facilities. The guest rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel will be completed in 2024.
